Top Places to Have Breakfast in Krakow

Hi everyone! I hope you are not feeling blue after holidays 😛

I have got a new idea to create an article about nice places to have breakfast in. First of all, there will be a list of Top places based on my experience.

I will add new spots as soon as I like more of them.

  1. Hamsa

I have discovered this place while there was a Sniadanko festival in Krakow. Why should you visit this place? There are several reasons: freshly cooked and delicious food, a variety of coffee (there is something like Beduin style coffee), high level of service, friendly staff, easy-to-find location, excellent interior; breakfast is served until 1 PM, and this fact makes Hamsa a perfect place for a late breakfast.

What to try: go for their breakfast. Shakshouka and Jerusalem breakfast are my favorites. I am more than sure that other dishes are excellent as well.

Opening hours: monday-friday 10:00 AM till  00:00 AM; saturday-sunday 09:00 AM till 00:00 AM

Hours of serving breakfast: 10 AM- 1 PM

Payment: cash and cards

Website: http://www.hamsa.pl/ ( there is an English version as well)

2. Dynia resto bar

One of the places I love is Dynia. Located in the city center, this resto-bar will offer a broad range of dishes. Moreover, they have delicious coffee! Cozy, green garden makes your time even more pleasant. Additional point this restaurant has gained because of breakfast menu for kids.

What to try: Breakfast indeed!

Opening hours: Monday-Friday 8 AM till  11 PM; Saturday-Sunday 09:00 AM till 11 PM

Breakfast hours: 8 AM – 1 PM.

Payment: cash and cards

     3. Plac Nowy 1

The interior is very simple, without any fancy dark furniture. But I think that is the reason why you feel so relaxed there.
Speaking about breakfasts, it is one of the best places for having it – fresh juicy vegetables, omelets flavored with different ingredients, tasty coffee ( which is even tastier in the morning – if you know what I mean ;). One of the things I like the most – staff – they are super cute, smiling all the time, speak excellent English. Why would you like to come back to the same place twice – because of people, in this particular case because of staff.

What to try: Breakfast! Coffee!

Breakfast hours: 9AM – 12PM

Opening hours: Sunday – Wednesday 09 AM – 12 AM; Thursday – Saturday 9 AM – 2 AM.

Payment: cash and cards

 4. Charlotte

It is a well-known place for not only locals but also through visitors. Situated in a city center, Charlotte will offer a chance to have super early breakfast. They start serving their excellent breakfasts from 7 AM till 12 AM (!). They have a vast assortment of sandwiches, croissants, coffee and home made jam. One of the things I suggest to try is wine. You will ask what for, we are talking about breakfast places. But you never know..maybe it is better to start the day with wine 😉

What to try: breakfast; different types of croissants which are being baked just before serving; coffee; homemade jam; French omelet

Breakfast hours: 7AM – 12 AM (from 09 AM on weekend)

Opening hours: Monday -Thursday 07AM – 12 AM; Friday 07AM – 01 AM; Saturday 09 AM – 01 AM; Sunday 09 AM – 10 PM.

Payment: cash and cards

Website: http://bistrocharlotte.pl/ ( The website is in Polish. But there is menu available in different languages )

 5. 2 okna cafe

It is one of the best places to have breakfast and enjoy the shade of the trees in their garden. It has the combination of attractive but at the same moment simple design, delicious dishes and fantastic beverages. It is one of those small cafes where you can try tea served in a special Turkish glasses ( ince belli) which allow keeping the temperature of the drink.
Pros: great location; friendly, super polite staff; tasty coffee and tea; cozy, charming garden; decent prices; warm, homelike, relaxing atmosphere; despite a small selection of dishes, you will find some snacks there; you can pay with the card.
Cons: a small area next to the bar which makes you escape the place; not a big variety of dishes; too touristic ( but it does not mean that they have a low level of service); no website; they have a beautiful open space, I would suggest to decorate it a bit more. The entrance to the cafe looks attractive, but there is something missing in the garden, though.

What to try: tea, breakfast

Breakfast hours: 8.30 AM – 12 PM

Opening hours: Monday – Friday 08.30 AM – 8 PM; weekend – 08.30 AM – 10 PM.

  6. Nap Nap Cafe

Some of the customers said that this cafe is nothing special, nothing extraordinary. Well, it depends on the taste and expectations. If you want some tasty coffee, delicious breakfast, and cozy, charming atmosphere, then this place is for you. I have found Nap Nap Cafe during Sniadanko Festival in Krakow, and it was worth visiting.

Pros: attractive interior, boards with cute phrases, different types of breakfasts, friendly staff, great location, menu in English is available.

Cons: it is too hot inside; sometimes you can wait up to 30-40 mins for the dish to be cooked ( that is what happened with us); chairs are a bit high; the entire space is too small; no website.

What to try: breakfasts, coffee;

Opening hours: Monday – Thursday 08.00 AM – 7 PM; Friday – Saturday 08 AM – 9 PM; Sunday – 08 AM – 06 PM.

Breakfast hours: the whole day

Payment: cash and card

Website: no website for now. There are a lot of reviews coming from Google My Business page, Tripadvisor, etc.

7. Milk Bar Tomasza

They call it an Irish upgrade of the classic Polish cafeteria. You will be served in a clean surrounding, where the chef pays attention to the rules of Polish cuisine. It is one of the best places to have breakfast in. Even though they call it Milkbar, the way how they serve is far way from a traditional Milkbars.

Pros: great location ( in the heart of the city), great food; staff speak English; pet-friendly place; they serve breakfasts all day long; big portion; decent prices

Cons: no website

What to try: breakfast

Opening hours: Monday – Saturday 08 AM – 8 PM, Sunday – 09 AM – 8 PM.

Breakfast hours: all day long

Website: none. There are opinions on Google My Business account, Tripadvisor, etc.

   8. Camelot

To begin with,o it is one of the best spots and must-see for everyone. It is a well-known place for locals. Romantic garden, hidden green spot or seats by the window will let you enjoy not only the breakfast time but also romantic moments. The food philosophy of the place is all about the delicious, fresh, juicy meals served with attention to details. If you check the review about Camelot, you will find out that visitors are happy with the service, menu assortment, location, and decoration.

What to try: breakfast, bruschetta, coffee, fresh juice, cheesecakes, hot chocolate, mulled wine

Cons: no website; menu available on Tripadvisor, zomato.com, etc

Opening hours: Monday – Sunday 09 AM – 12 AM

Website: none. There are opinions on Google My Business account, Tripadvisor, etc.

9. Strefa

There were a lot of rumors going around about the Dolnych Mlynow area. I decided to try one of the spots located there. The name of the place is Strefa. Decorated with few plants and simple chairs, Strefa keeps the feeling of being a modern restaurant. In comparison to other breakfast spots I have described earlier, this one does not have a long history. What I was impressed about is staff – friendly guys.

What to try: breakfast indeed

Cons: no website, no menu in English, self-service

Opening hours: 10 AM – 11 PM every day

Website: none. There are opinions coming from Google My Business, Tripadvisor and their Facebook Page.

Instagram: yes
